About Bangladesh Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (BSPD)

The purpose of the Bangladesh Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (BSPD) is to raise awareness about Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) as a more affordable and less expensive treatment modality for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) among people, doctors and renal physicians, alongside providing hands-on training for nephrologists and nurses. This organization aims to increase the national acceptance, promote quality practice, and achieve optimal outcomes of peritoneal dialysis through enhanced advocacy, research and education. Its goal also includes promoting advancement of such knowledge through national & international scientific meetings, hands-on training and scientific publications in order to improve the health and well-being of people living with end-stage kidney disease or suffering from acute kidney injury.

A future in which PD is freely available and equitably accessible national wide in Bangladesh as a reliable, affordable, sustainable and life-saving option for patients with acute kidney injury or end stage kidney disease.

OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE

All the objects will be implemented after obtaining necessary permission from the Government / Concerned authority/ competent authority and the objects contrary to the provision of Section 20 of the Act shall be treated as ineffective.


  • Advancement of peritoneal dialysis through national and international scientific meetings, scientific publications, trainings and other such activities that shall help in the furtherance of peritoneal dialysis. 
  • The society is organized exclusively for educational and scientific purposes and advancement of peritoneal dialysis.
  • provide technical consultancy in the area peritoneal dialysis.
  • Contribute to manpower development, knowledge dissemination and promote public awareness. 
  • To bring about intra and inter country communication for a better appreciation among the members and in between similar profession in other countries.
  • To hold conferences, conventions, seminars and expositions in the stated fields of Peritoneal Dialysis. 
  • To consider or formulate opinions upon all questions connected with Peritoneal Dialysis.
  • To maintain library of books or publications of technical interest so as to spread technical information or knowledge of Peritoneal Dialysis.
  • To establish exhibition of products in connection with Peritoneal Dialysis.
  • To initiate social service among members to construct premises for Association or alter or add or remove any such building.
  • To borrow or raise any finance required for the purpose of association upon such terms and matters and on such securities as may be required to start Training institutions and Diploma/Certificate Courses on Peritoneal Dialysis.
  • To publish magazine, pamphlets, newsletters in connection with the object of association.
  • To develop / explore various techniques of peritoneal dialysis.
  • To subscribe to become part of any co-operative or other associations whether incorporated or not, whose objects are wholly or partially identical with or similar to those of the Association.
  • The benefit of the object of association shall be extended to all General public irrespective of caste, creed, religion or sex.
  • To arrange for upfront fee and other fee and expense fixed by the Government, Local Authority for holding the lease land.
